Film Desk Privacy Policy
Film Desk is built to be offline-first: your videos never leave your computer. This policy explains the small amount of account information we do hold.
1. Who we are
Film Desk is a desktop video editor made by Evyxai (Evyx AI) [legal entity name and address to be added by the owner]. Contact: developers@evyxai.com.
2. What stays on your computer
Film Desk works offline. Your videos, audio, images, projects, edits, captions and exports are stored and processed on your computer. They are never uploaded to Evyxai or anyone else, and we cannot see them.
The 14-day free trial needs no account and sends nothing about your projects.
3. What we collect
Account details: your email address and, if you give it, your name. If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive the email address and name that provider shares with us.
Purchases: the order id, amount, currency, status, date and refund or dispute status of your Film Desk purchase, and the licence granted to your account.
Computers: when you activate Film Desk on a computer we store a random device id, the computer name you or the system gave it, the operating system (macOS, Windows or Linux), the Film Desk version and the time of the last licence check.
Security data: sign-in sessions with the time, IP address and browser type, and an activity log of account actions (for example a computer removed or an email changed). One-time sign-in codes are stored only in hashed form.
Messages: if you email developers@evyxai.com we keep the conversation to help you.
4. What we do not collect
We do not collect your videos or edits, the contents of your projects, what you do inside the editor, advertising identifiers, or payment card details. There is no advertising and no tracking inside the Film Desk app.
The website uses Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to count visits to the pages. [Owner: confirm whether analytics should also be described as running on filmdesk.evyxai.com, or disabled there.]
5. Why we use it
To create and secure your account, sign you in, verify and deliver your licence, limit a licence to the allowed number of computers, process support requests, prevent abuse and meet legal and tax duties.
6. Payments
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record and sells Film Desk to you. Dodo Payments collects and processes your card or other payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive the order details listed above, and your email address and name, but not your card number.
7. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers that run the service for us: Dodo Payments (payments), Resend (sending sign-in and purchase emails), our hosting provider, and Google or Apple if you choose to sign in with them. Each may process data in other countries. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
8. How long we keep it
We keep account data while your account exists. Purchase records may be kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after account deletion. Expired sign-in sessions and one-time codes are removed automatically. [Owner: confirm retention periods.]
9. Your choices and rights
Signed in at filmdesk.evyxai.com/account you can change your name and email, remove computers, download a copy of your data, sign out everywhere and request account deletion. You can also email developers@evyxai.com. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, such as access, correction, deletion, objection or complaint to a regulator.
10. Cookies
The account site uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in (it is not used for advertising). Website analytics may set their own cookies.
11. Security
Connections use HTTPS. Sign-in codes and tokens are stored hashed, and licences are digitally signed. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us if you notice a problem.
12. Children
Film Desk is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
13. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes we will also notify account holders by email.
